Is it legal for a company to post a picture of myself on their website without my consent?

I am a very private individual who does not have facebook or myspace, not even a cell phone. My company wants to write a biography of everyone on their website with a photo of each one of us. I refused because I want to remain private. They told me if I don't that they will fire me. Can they do this? My position at the company is just a Maintenance man and not a big ceo or manager. Thanks
