Is Yiruma a modern composer?

I have to do a research about modern composers for my Music Class and I need to have 1 modern composer and tell my teacher and classmates about the style of music they write and their biography. I thought of Yiruma when I was told of my assignment. Is he really a modern composer because my assignment is due on Wednesday.
